About the medications
What is semaglutide?
Semaglutide is a GLP-1 receptor agonist — a medication that mimics a hormone your body naturally produces to regulate blood sugar and appetite. It’s been used in diabetes care since 2017 and approved for weight management since 2021. Brand-name versions include Ozempic and Wegovy, but Trim Today provides a compounded version through licensed pharmacies at a fraction of the cost.
What is tirzepatide?
Tirzepatide is a newer dual-action medication that targets both GLP-1 and GIP receptors, often producing stronger weight loss results than semaglutide alone. Brand-name versions are Mounjaro and Zepbound. Trim Today provides compounded tirzepatide through licensed pharmacies, giving you access to the same active medication at flat-rate pricing.
How do GLP-1 medications work for weight loss?
GLP-1 medications work in three main ways: they slow the rate at which food leaves your stomach (you feel full longer), they reduce appetite signals in your brain (you feel less hungry), and they help regulate blood sugar. The result is most people naturally eat less without willpower-based dieting. Most patients begin noticing reduced cravings within the first two weeks.
What's the difference between semaglutide and tirzepatide?
Both work, but tirzepatide tends to produce greater average weight loss because it activates two appetite-regulating receptors instead of one. Clinical trials have shown tirzepatide users typically lose 15-22% of body weight, while semaglutide users typically lose 10-15%. Tirzepatide is also newer and somewhat more expensive. Your Trim Today provider can help you choose the right option for your goals.
Is compounded semaglutide or tirzepatide FDA-approved?
The active ingredients — semaglutide and tirzepatide — are FDA-approved compounds. Compounded versions prepared by licensed 503A compounding pharmacies are not separately FDA-approved as finished products, but the practice of compounding is regulated by the FDA and state boards of pharmacy. Compounding allows pharmacies to prepare patient-specific formulations and is most commonly used when commercial products are in shortage. The FDA has recognized semaglutide and tirzepatide as eligible for compounding due to ongoing shortages.
Is compounded medication the same as Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, or Zepbound?
The active ingredient is the same — semaglutide is semaglutide, tirzepatide is tirzepatide. What differs is the manufacturing pathway. Brand-name versions are produced by Novo Nordisk (semaglutide) and Eli Lilly (tirzepatide) in mass-manufactured facilities. Compounded versions are prepared by licensed 503A pharmacies under FDA-regulated standards. The molecule itself is identical.
What is a compounding pharmacy?
A compounding pharmacy prepares medications individually for specific patients based on a prescription. They’re licensed by state boards of pharmacy and regulated by the FDA. Our partner pharmacy is a 503A compounding pharmacy, meaning they prepare patient-specific prescriptions tailored to your provider’s orders. Every batch is third-party tested for purity, potency, and sterility.
What dose will I take?
Your Trim Today provider will determine the right starting dose based on your medical history and goals. Most patients begin at a low dose (0.25mg semaglutide or 2.5mg tirzepatide weekly) and titrate upward gradually as tolerated. Unlike many competitors, your dose increases never increase your bill. One price covers your whole program at any dose.
How do I take the medication?
Both semaglutide and tirzepatide are self-administered weekly via a small subcutaneous (under-the-skin) injection, typically in the thigh, abdomen, or upper arm. Your shipment includes the medication, syringes, alcohol prep pads, and detailed instructions. Most patients describe the injection as painless or like a small pinch. We provide video instructions and 24/7 support if you have questions.
How is it administered?
Weekly self-injection. You’ll receive everything you need in your shipment: pre-measured medication vials, syringes, alcohol pads, and step-by-step instructions. The injection takes about 30 seconds. Most patients pick a consistent day of the week (e.g., every Sunday morning) and inject at that time. Your provider and care team are available 24/7 if you have questions.
What's the typical weight loss?
Results vary, but published clinical trial data shows: semaglutide users typically lose 10-15% of starting body weight over 12 months; tirzepatide users typically lose 15-22%. Most patients see meaningful changes within the first month. Sustained results require continued use of the medication along with healthy lifestyle habits — these are weight-management medications, not one-time treatments.
How long does it take to see results?
Most patients notice reduced appetite within 1-2 weeks. Visible weight loss typically begins in weeks 2-4 and accelerates over months 2-6 as your dose titrates upward. The most rapid weight loss period is usually months 2-9. After that, weight loss continues at a slower rate, and many patients enter a maintenance phase. Your provider will guide your titration and adjust as needed.
About the Trim Today program
How does the Trim Today program work?
Four simple steps: (1) Complete a short online intake form — about 5 minutes. (2) A board-certified provider reviews your information, typically within 24 hours. (3) If approved, your prescription is sent to our licensed partner pharmacy and shipped overnight in refrigerated packaging. (4) You receive everything you need, and your care team is available 24/7 if you have questions. No clinics, no appointments, no waiting rooms.
What's included in my plan?
Every plan includes: the medication itself, all injection supplies (syringes, alcohol prep pads, sharps container), free overnight refrigerated shipping, full provider oversight, 24/7 access to nurses and care team, and a flat price that covers any dose your provider prescribes. No member fees. No hidden costs.
What's the difference between the package options (1, 3, 6, or 12 months)?
The longer the package, the lower your effective monthly cost. A 12-month tirzepatide plan works out to $167/month vs $279/month on the monthly plan — savings of about 40%. Same medication, same provider oversight, same support. The longer plans are designed for people who know they’re committed to the journey. Monthly plans are for people who want to try it without longer commitment.
Semaglutide pricing:
- Monthly: $199 ($199/month)
- 3 months: $399 total ($133/month)
- 6 months: $699 total ($117/month)
- 12 months: $1,185 total ($99/month)
Tirzepatide pricing:
- Monthly: $279 ($279/month)
- 3 months: $649 total ($216/month)
- 6 months: $1,099 total ($183/month)
- 12 months: $1,999 total ($167/month)
Do I save money on longer plans?
Yes — significantly. A 12-month semaglutide plan costs $99/month vs $199/month monthly (50% savings). A 12-month tirzepatide plan costs $167/month vs $279/month (40% savings). If you’re committed to the journey, longer plans pay off.
Can I switch between semaglutide and tirzepatide?
Yes. If you start on one and want to switch, contact your care team via SMS, email, or phone. They’ll loop in your provider to assess whether the switch is medically appropriate and adjust your plan. Plan price adjustments handle the difference between medications fairly — no surprise charges.
Can I change my dose during my plan?
Yes — that’s the whole point of flat-rate pricing. Most patients increase their dose over time as their body adjusts. Your price doesn’t change. Your provider manages dose adjustments as part of your normal care.
What if my dose increases — does the price change?
No. Ever. This is one of the biggest differences between Trim Today and many competitors. One price covers any dose your provider prescribes for your entire program. If you start at 0.5mg and end up at 2.5mg, your bill is identical.
Do I have to commit to a long-term plan?
No. You can start with a monthly plan if you want to try it without commitment. You can also upgrade to a longer plan later if you want the savings. There’s no penalty for any choice — we just want you to find what works.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Cancel anytime by contacting your care team via SMS, email, or phone. No cancellation fees. No retention pressure. If you’ve prepaid for a longer plan, refund policies apply per our terms (typically prorated for unused months).
Are there any hidden fees?
No. The price you see is the price you pay. No setup fees. No member fees. No shipping fees. No dosage upcharges. No refill fees. No “doctor visit” fees on top. The entire program — medication, supplies, provider oversight, support, shipping — is included in your plan price.
What payment methods do you accept?
All major credit and debit cards, plus HSA/FSA cards in most cases (GLP-1 medications for weight management may be HSA/FSA eligible if your provider documents medical necessity — check with your plan administrator).
Do you offer HSA/FSA eligibility?
Often, yes. GLP-1 medications can be HSA/FSA eligible when prescribed for medical conditions — including obesity and weight management with appropriate documentation. Your Trim Today provider can provide the necessary letter of medical necessity if applicable. Final eligibility depends on your specific HSA/FSA plan administrator.
Is there a member fee?
No. We do not charge a member or subscription fee. You pay for your program; that’s it. This is intentional — many competitors charge $40-100/month membership fees on top of medication costs. We don’t believe that’s necessary or transparent.
After you place your order
After I place my order, what happens next?
You’ll get an email and SMS confirmation right after checkout with a link to complete your medical intake form. A board-certified physician licensed in your state reviews your intake — typically within 24 hours, often within 5 hours. If approved, your prescription is sent to one of our partner pharmacies and ships within 2-3 business days in refrigerated overnight packaging. You’ll receive an SMS with tracking once your order ships.
How do I complete the medical intake form?
The intake form link is sent via email and SMS immediately after purchase. Click the link, log into your patient portal, and answer the questions about your health history, current medications, allergies, and goals. You may be asked to upload photos (such as full-body images for tracking) or a copy of your ID. Submit the form to finalize your intake. The form takes about 5-10 minutes to complete.
What if my doctor asks for additional information?
Some intakes require follow-up — your provider may request additional photos, documents, or a brief video consultation before approving your prescription. Check your email (including spam/junk folder) and SMS for messages from your care team. Responding promptly to any provider requests is the fastest way to get your medication approved and shipped.
Why might my prescription be denied?
Most denials fall into two categories. First, technical issues — missing or incomplete intake form, expired or unclear ID/photos, or payment processing errors. These are usually fixable by resubmitting the corrected information. Second, medical reasons — your provider may determine that GLP-1 medication isn’t appropriate for you based on your health history, current medications, or other clinical factors. Medical decisions are made for your safety and are at the provider’s professional discretion. If your prescription is not approved for any reason, you receive a full refund.
How do I request a dose change?
Contact your care team to request a dose change. The fastest way is text 727-228-1025 — most messages get a reply within an hour. You can also email support@trytrimtoday.com or call 727-228-1025. Your provider will review your request, current dose, response, and any side effects, and decide whether to adjust your dose. Dose adjustments never change your price at Trim Today — your plan rate stays flat regardless of dose.
Medical and safety
Who can use Trim Today's program?
Adults age 18+ who meet medical criteria for GLP-1 medications. Generally this includes people with a BMI of 27 or higher (or BMI 30+ without other conditions), and no contraindications to GLP-1 medications. Your provider will assess your full medical history during intake and determine appropriateness. We cannot prescribe to anyone with certain medical conditions (see Q27).
Who shouldn't use these medications?
GLP-1 medications are not appropriate for everyone. You should not use semaglutide or tirzepatide if you have:
- Personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma
- Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2)
- Severe gastrointestinal disease (severe gastroparesis, etc.)
- Type 1 diabetes
- Current pregnancy or trying to become pregnant
- Active eating disorder
- History of pancreatitis
- Severe kidney disease
Your provider will assess all of these during intake. Honesty during intake is critical — it keeps you safe.
What are the side effects?
The most common side effects are gastrointestinal: nausea, mild constipation or diarrhea, occasional vomiting, and reduced appetite. These typically peak in the first few weeks after starting or after a dose increase, then improve. Most patients tolerate the medications well, especially with gradual titration.
Less common but serious side effects can include pancreatitis, gallbladder problems, kidney issues, and severe hypoglycemia (especially if combined with other diabetes medications). Contact your provider immediately if you experience severe abdominal pain, severe vomiting, or other concerning symptoms.
Is it safe?
Semaglutide and tirzepatide have been studied in tens of thousands of patients across multiple clinical trials. Both have FDA-approved versions for diabetes and weight management. As with any medication, individual response varies, and proper medical oversight is essential. That’s why Trim Today requires every prescription to be issued by a board-certified provider after a full medical review — and provides 24/7 care team access for any concerns during your program.
Do I need to see a doctor in person?
No in-person visit is required for most patients. Trim Today operates as a fully online telehealth program. Your provider reviews your intake form, medical history, and any required lab work (occasionally requested) virtually. If your provider determines an in-person visit is medically necessary at any point, they’ll let you know.
What if I have other health conditions?
Tell us during intake. Many health conditions are compatible with GLP-1 therapy — type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, sleep apnea, PCOS, and others can all coexist with treatment and often improve alongside weight loss. Your provider will review your full medical picture and make a clinically appropriate recommendation.
What if I'm taking other medications?
GLP-1 medications can interact with some other medications, particularly insulin and other diabetes drugs. Always list every medication, supplement, and over-the-counter product you take during intake. Your provider will check for interactions and adjust your plan accordingly. Some medications may need dose adjustment when you start GLP-1 therapy.
Can I drink alcohol on these medications?
There’s no absolute prohibition, but heavy drinking is discouraged. GLP-1 medications slow gastric emptying, which can affect how alcohol absorbs and how you feel after drinking. Many patients naturally reduce alcohol consumption while on treatment as part of the appetite/craving changes. Discuss your specific situation with your provider during intake.
What about diet and exercise?
GLP-1 medications work best when combined with healthy lifestyle habits — not because the medications won’t work otherwise, but because the long-term outcomes are better when you build sustainable habits during treatment. Most patients naturally eat less and make better food choices as cravings reduce. We provide general nutrition and activity guidance through your care team, but we are not a structured diet program.
Logistics and shipping
How fast will I get my medication?
Most patients receive their first shipment in 4-7 days after their intake is approved. Approvals typically happen within 24 hours of submission. Once approved, your prescription is filled and shipped overnight in refrigerated packaging directly to your door.
How is it shipped?
Every shipment goes overnight in temperature-controlled, refrigerated packaging to maintain medication integrity. Your shipment includes the medication vials, syringes, alcohol prep pads, sharps container, and printed instructions. Shipping is included — no extra fees ever.
Does it need to stay cold?
Yes. Semaglutide and tirzepatide require refrigeration before use. Our refrigerated shipping ensures they arrive at proper temperature. Once received, store the medication in your refrigerator (not the freezer). After mixing/preparing for a dose, some formulations are stable at room temperature for a limited time — your specific instructions will explain.
What if I miss a dose?
If you miss a weekly dose, take it as soon as you remember within 5 days. If more than 5 days have passed, skip the missed dose and resume your regular schedule. Don’t double-dose to “catch up.” Contact your care team if you have questions or have missed multiple doses.
How are refills handled?
We manage refills automatically. Your provider plans your continuous supply, and your next shipment is sent before you run out. No refill request needed, no gaps in therapy. This is one of the biggest differences from traditional pharmacy — no calling to refill, no waiting on a doctor’s office to send a script.
What if I run out?
You shouldn’t — that’s the point of provider-managed continuous supply. But if something goes wrong (delivery delay, address change, etc.), contact your care team 24/7 and we’ll resolve it quickly. Worst case, your provider can arrange a same-day or next-day shipment in most areas.
When will my order ship?
After your prescription is approved, your medication ships within 2-3 business days. Pharmacies ship Monday through Thursday (not Fridays, weekends, or holidays — refrigerated medications shouldn’t sit in transit over the weekend). Orders approved before 3 PM ET Monday-Thursday typically ship the same day. Orders approved after 3 PM ET Monday-Wednesday ship the next business day. Orders approved after 3 PM ET Thursday or anytime Friday-Sunday ship the following Monday.
How do I get tracking information?
You’ll receive an SMS with tracking information once your order ships, sent to the mobile number on your account. Email tracking notifications are also sent. Tracking links typically activate within a few hours of shipment. If you haven’t received tracking 5 business days after your prescription was approved, contact your care team at 727-228-1025.
Why don’t I have tracking information yet?
If your tracking hasn’t arrived, your order is likely still being processed. Common reasons include: you haven’t completed your intake form yet, your doctor has requested additional information (check your email and spam folder), you haven’t provided a valid physical shipping address, or your prescription hasn’t been approved yet. Once these are resolved and your medication ships, you’ll get an SMS with tracking.
Why hasn’t my order shipped yet?
Several things can delay shipping. Check the following:
- Your intake form is fully completed
- Any provider requests for additional information have been answered (check your email and spam folder)
- Your shipping address is a valid physical address — we cannot ship to PO Boxes
- Your prescription has been approved
- The pharmacy is within the standard 2-3 business day processing window
If you’ve verified all of these and it’s been more than 5 business days since prescription approval, contact us at 727-228-1025.
Is my medication still safe if my package is delayed in transit?
Almost certainly yes. Compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide are formulated to remain stable within manufacturer-specified temperature ranges during standard transit, even if the ice packs have partially or fully melted upon arrival, as long as the factory seal is intact.
- Semaglutide is generally safe within 36-86°F (2-30°C)
- Tirzepatide is stable at 68-80°F (20-27°C) for up to 21 days unopened
After delivery, refrigerate the medication promptly. Once you’ve broken the factory seal and started using the vial, it must be refrigerated to maintain effectiveness. If you have specific concerns about your delayed shipment, text or call 727-228-1025 and our care team will guide you.
Do you ship to PO Boxes?
No. All shipments require a valid physical street address (residential or commercial). PO Boxes, mail forwarding services, and freight forwarders cannot accept refrigerated medication shipments and don’t meet our delivery requirements. Make sure your shipping address is a physical address where you can receive packages, and keep it current. TrimToday is not responsible for packages affected by incorrect or outdated addresses — shipping insurance does not cover address errors.
How quickly do I need to report an issue with my order?
Report any issues — missing items, damaged packaging, incorrect medication, broken seals, or any other concerns — within 48 hours of receiving your package. We may ask for photos of the package and contents to process a replacement. Reports made after the 48-hour window may not be eligible for free replacement. Contact us at 727-228-1025 or support@trytrimtoday.com to report issues.
What if my package is lost or misdelivered?
Contact us right away at 727-228-1025 (text or call) or support@trytrimtoday.com. If the carrier (UPS, FedEx, or USPS) shows the package as delivered but you didn’t receive it, you may need to file a claim with the carrier and provide us the claim number. We’ll work with you to resolve the issue and arrange a replacement when appropriate. Note: Shipping insurance does not cover packages lost due to incorrect shipping addresses provided by the customer — please verify your shipping address is current and accurate before each renewal.
What states do you serve?
48 U.S. states plus Puerto Rico. Mississippi and Louisiana currently prohibit telehealth prescribing of weight-loss medications under state law, so we cannot serve patients in those two states. We work with board-certified physicians licensed in every state we serve.
Pharmacy and providers
Are the doctors real and licensed?
Yes. Every Trim Today provider is a board-certified physician licensed to practice in your state. Your provider’s name, credentials, and state license are documented on your prescription paperwork and available on request. We do not use foreign or unlicensed prescribers.
What pharmacy do you use?
We partner with two licensed 503A compounding pharmacies in Florida, both accredited and operating under the same quality standards:
- Logos Pharmacy — 7543 W. Waters Ave, Tampa, FL 33615. Phone: 855-564-6779. Primary partner.
- Angel Pharmacy — 7306 State Road 52, Suite 4, Hudson, FL 34667. Phone: 727-300-2087. Fulfillment partner.
All prescriptions are processed through Logos as our primary partner, with some orders routed to Angel for fulfillment depending on capacity. Both pharmacies are state-licensed by the Florida Board of Pharmacy, regulated by the FDA, and held to the same compounding and testing standards. Your prescription paperwork specifies which pharmacy filled your specific order.
Are the pharmacies licensed and verified?
Yes. Both Logos Pharmacy and Angel Pharmacy are accredited compounding pharmacies, state-licensed by the Florida Board of Pharmacy and regulated by the FDA. Both pharmacies operate under 503A compounding standards. Trim Today’s operations are LegitScript-verified — an independent organization that certifies legitimate online pharmacy operations. The LegitScript verification badge appears on our website and is independently verifiable at legitscript.com.
How do I know the medication is real?
Every batch is third-party tested for purity, potency, and sterility. Test results are documented and available for review. We use the same active pharmaceutical ingredients as brand-name medications. If you ever have concerns about a specific shipment, contact our care team.
Is the medication third-party tested?
Yes. Every batch our partner pharmacies produce is independently tested for: active ingredient potency (confirms correct dose strength), purity (no contaminants), and sterility (no microbial contamination). These tests are conducted by ISO-accredited laboratories, and results are documented per FDA compounding regulations.
Comparison and pricing
Why are your prices so much lower than other GLP-1 programs?
Three reasons:
1. No middlemen. Most competitors layer in member fees, “concierge” charges, dosage upcharges, and pricing tiers that benefit them, not you. We don’t.
2. Operational efficiency. We operate entirely online with no physical clinics, no commission-based sales teams, and no inflated marketing structure. Those savings get passed to you.
3. Direct pharmacy relationships. We work directly with our partner pharmacies without intermediary marketplaces taking a cut.
Same medications, same provider quality, real licensed pharmacies — just without the markup.
How does Trim Today compare to Hims, Henry Meds, Eden, and other GLP-1 telehealth services?
Trim Today is significantly cheaper than every major telehealth GLP-1 competitor — for the same active medications, with the same provider oversight.
Monthly cost comparison (longest published plan rates):
| Brand | Semaglutide/mo | Tirzepatide/mo | Membership Fee | Dose Upcharge |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Trim Today | $99 | $167 | None | None |
| Ro | $299 | Name brand only | $145/mo | Yes |
| Henry Meds | $297 | Oral only | None | None |
| Eden | $276 | Not available | None | None |
| Willow | $299 | $399 | None | None |
| Ivim | $299 | $399 | $74.99/mo | Yes |
| Amble | $219* | Not available | None | None |
| Hims | $299 | Not available | None | None |
| Orderly Meds | $199 | $449 | None | Yes |
*Pricing reflects each provider’s longest published plan as of May 2026. Verify directly with each provider for current pricing.
A few things this table makes obvious:
- Trim Today is the lowest-priced option on both medications — by roughly 50% on semaglutide and 58% on tirzepatide vs the next-closest competitor that offers them
- Tirzepatide access is limited at many competitors. Some offer only brand-name (which runs $1,000+/month uninsured), some only oral GLP-1 medications (less effective), some offer no access at all
- Membership fees add $74-$145/month at Ro and Ivim on top of the medication cost
- Dosage upcharges mean your bill goes up as your dose increases at Ro, Ivim, and Orderly Meds
We can offer lower prices because we operate efficiently online, work directly with our partner pharmacies, and don’t layer in member fees, dosage upcharges, or hidden costs. Same medications. Real licensed pharmacies. Just without the markup.
Why should I trust Trim Today?
A few reasons: (1) Every provider is board-certified and state-licensed, with credentials documented on your prescription paperwork. (2) Both our partner pharmacies are licensed and accredited; Trim Today is LegitScript-verified — an independent certification. (3) Every batch is third-party tested for purity, potency, and sterility. (4) Our pricing is fully transparent — see the comparison in Q49, no surprises at checkout. (5) Real humans are reachable 24/7 via SMS, email, and phone. (6) We have nothing to hide and our differentiation is based on doing this category honestly.
