What is semaglutide and how does it work?
Semaglutide is a synthetic version of GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1), a hormone your body naturally produces after eating. The medication works in three primary ways: it slows the rate at which food leaves your stomach, so you feel full longer after meals. It reduces appetite signals in the brain’s hypothalamus, so you feel less hungry between meals. And it helps regulate blood sugar by stimulating insulin release when glucose levels rise.

Who is semaglutide for?

What dose will I take?
Most patients begin at a low starting dose (typically 0.25 mg per week) and titrate upward gradually as tolerated, often reaching maintenance doses between 1.0 mg and 2.4 mg per week. What are the side effects of semaglutide?

What makes tirzepatide different from semaglutide?
Both medications work by mimicking gut hormones that regulate appetite and blood sugar. The key difference is that tirzepatide activates two appetite-regulating receptors instead of one — both GLP-1 (the same target as semaglutide) and GIP (glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide). How does tirzepatide work?

Angel Pharmacy (7306 State Road 52, Suite 4, Hudson, FL 34667) is our fulfillment partner and handles overflow capacity. Both pharmacies are state-licensed by the Florida Board of Pharmacy, regulated by the FDA under 503A compounding standards, and produce medications under USP <797> sterile compounding guidelines.
Every batch of every compounded medication is independently third-party tested by ISO-accredited laboratories for active ingredient potency, purity (no contaminants), and sterility (no microbial contamination). Test results are documented per FDA compounding regulations and available on request.

Can I combine multiple treatments?
Yes. Most Trim Today patients combine a primary GLP-1 medication (semaglutide or tirzepatide) with one or more supportive therapies. Common combinations include semaglutide plus Zofran for nausea support during titration, tirzepatide plus Lipo-C for added fat metabolism support, and any GLP-1 plus Metformin for patients with insulin resistance. Your provider will help select which combinations are medically appropriate for you.
Do I need a separate prescription for each add-on?
Each medication requires its own provider review and prescription, but the process is integrated. When you complete intake, you indicate which treatments you’re interested in. Your provider reviews everything together and prescribes whatever is appropriate. Refills and management are unified through your single care team.
Can I add a supportive therapy after I’ve already started a GLP-1 plan?
Yes. You can add supportive therapies at any point during your program. Just contact your care team via SMS at 727-228-1025 or email support@trytrimtoday.com and we’ll arrange provider review and add the therapy to your shipments.
Are the supportive therapies FDA-approved?
Zofran (ondansetron) and Metformin are FDA-approved medications. NAD+, Lipo-C, and Glutathione are compounded wellness products and are not separately FDA-approved as drugs. Sermorelin is a compounded prescription peptide. All compounded medications at Trim Today are prepared by licensed 503A compounding pharmacies under FDA-regulated standards. Individual results vary, and these products are used as part of a comprehensive wellness plan rather than as standalone medical treatments.
